so do you still wanna get married?

that's basically how my argument with michael ended today. we love each other, we wanna be together, but the person that said relationships are not hard work, lied. in my case, we are two completely different people, with different beliefs, very, very stubborn and if all those reasons weren't enough to make us have arguments, insert the fact that we also have completely different cultural background.

yes, i love michael but i won't come here and say our relationship is perfect, because it's not. i am a person that tend to give up on hard things easily, so to say that i work hard not to let things affect me daily, is very true.

little things that for me are common, for him are not. some things he says that are completely natural to him, i think it's extremely offensive. he feels the same about some things i say. no, i'm not saying we argue everyday. not even close. in over a year that we've been together, we only had three our four major arguments. we compromise most of the time, but some times i find myself saying "man, this is too hard, too much work" and then i sit down, and re-think and tell myself that not everything in life is going to be easy. that although i've had things fairly easy all my life, relationships involve people, feelings and emotions. Not only me, but two people. And you're supposed to work with your partner, and be less judgmental and open to differences.

i don't really believe people that say they have perfect relationships and never argue. i don't believe people that say they never have bad days when all they think about is saying screw it all, i'm done. how would that be possible to have a perfect relationship when there's no perfect person? yeah, i thought relationships would be easy to deal with because when there's love involved, nothing can be too hard, huh? but i was wrong. love is, sometimes, not enough. you gotta have love, you gotta compromise, you gotta be patient and be persistent. it's hard work. and it makes you change attitudes you've had your whole life and changing is scary and difficult.

but you know what? it's worth it. he is worth it. what we have together is worth it.
and that's why i keep working on it. day after day.

what does your phone say about you?

okay, so i missed the project last week, so i figured i'd just post whatever i had in my phone today! (yes, i'm trying to get used to posting always!) it's funny because a phone can say so much about a person... mine just tells me that i am SOOOO boring lol! my pictures make no sense, but hey, it's who i am! i am not extremely fun and my life is not a movie... it can be pretty boring sometimes, but it's my life and i like it!

this week has been crazy so far... school started with the homework, my mom has left to brazil to get my baby sis (i'll make sure i take a video of them coming back on sunday! my sis is totally a drama queen lol!) and i've shopped like there was no tomorrow yesterday because my older sister (that lives in brazil) gives me long, long lists of things to buy every time we go there... for someone that doesn't like shopping much like me (i know, weird!) it's hell lol!

on a happier note, i am sooo close to getting the venue i want for the wedding! michael and i have decided that we wanna do the wedding in brazil, because basically he is too sweet and said he is willing to do the wedding there so i wouldn't complain about it in 10 years i would be completely happy on my special day lol! the place looks great and i am sooo very excited for it! i will post more info on the wedding as soon as we get an ok from the place!

now, to the picturesssss....

1- chick-fil-a date with my mommy!

Project 365 : Week 2

{Linking up with Laura for my second week of Project 365}

I cannot believe that I'm posting two weeks in a row! And I actually took pictures all week just so I could post here, lol. Project 365 FTW! I hope I can keep up with it now that school is starting again! By the way, I am SO DONE with school... I seriously am so tired of it already, lol. And the classes seem to multiply! When I think I have so little left, bam! more appear.. ugh! >.<

Anyways, let's go to the good part... my week!

Day 1 - Sunday: I am a member of the LDS church, aka, a Mormon and my religion is really important to me. My cousin was giving her farewell talk last Sunday since she is going on her mission to Lisbon, Portugal and we drove to her ward to see her. After that we went to a little party at my aunt's house and ate awesome sandwiches! Unfortunately, I have no pictures of that because I forgot my phone in the car, lol!

Day 2 - Monday: Four Cheese croissants for breakfast!

Day 3 - Tuesday: Doctor's appointment in the morning! I will have to be there again in 3 weeks, so I'm sure you'll see other pictures like this soon, lol!

 Day 4 - Wednesday: Fortune Cookie! Yes, I know Panda Express, I should say I love you more often. Working on that! ;)

Day 5 - Thursday: My daily Bible studies! I read a chapter a night, and do this awesome little prayer in the beginning that I may open the book in a chapter I need to read/ or will be helpful for me that day. Always works!

Day 6 - Friday: Grocery shopping... but wait, am I shopping for grocery or toys? both lol

Day 7 - Saturday: Talking with this pretty little lady online! Sophia is my niece and I talked about her before on the blog, and now she's 4 months old and has just discovered her little hands, lol! She keeps them in her mouth all day long, but I also noticed that she is getting aware she has feet too, hahaha! I love, love, love her, and can't wait to meet her in person. That is the part that sucks about living in another country.... but oh well, I hope she will love her aunt Mari as much as I love her! Oh, and by the way, yes, the toy is for her, lol!

So, I'm going back to packing, since my family and I will be moving very, very soon... so far I have one box with not even half of my books in, so gotta figure out a way to take it all with me... maybe donate some as well.. I don't know. Anyways, hope y'all have a great Sunday!

Project 365 : Week 1

{Linking up with Laura for my first week of Project 365}

This whole a photo a day thing sounded so interesting that I wanted to try as well! I am now an Apple girl (got a Macbook and an Iphone for xmas!) so I figured why not give it a try! Maybe this project will help me focus on my blog a little more! At least forgetting the camera cannot be an excuse anymore, since my Iphone camera is so awesome!

My past week was filled with good times with Mr. Michael, who happened to be here since Christmas! Still can't believe the army let him come for that long, woo hoo! Anyways... here is my week :)

Day 1 - Sunday: Michael and I went to the Cardinals game! They won and I ate churros,
cinnamon almonds and we got in a little argument about filling the tank of the car or not. According to him, my car would drive another 20 miles if the empty light was on, but I don't trust my car. We ended up stopping for gas before the car stopped working. Win win!

Day 2 - Monday: We went to Fogo de Chao! Like I mentioned before, I'm Brazilian and have been living here for a year and a half and one of the things I miss the most (apart from my family, of course) is the Brazilian food! So we decided we'd go to FDC Steakhouse to eat lots of bbq! It's all you can eat and they bring fried bananas and cheese bread all the time! And I can assure anyone that goes there that it is authentic Brazilian barbecue! Oh, and it's always good to speak Portuguese with the waiters too! ;)

Day 3 - Tuesday: Playing with Instagram! Love this app!

Day 4 - Wednesday: We took a day trip to Michael's old address in Ft. Huachuca, Arizona. Pretty place, nothing to do though. It's literally in the middle of nowhere... about 15 miles from the border of Mexico. Definitely interesting, lol!

Day 5 - Thursday: Happy birthday, mommy! My beautiful ma is officially 48!

Day 6 - Friday: Michael and I got dressed up and went out for dinner with his buddy that was in Iraq with him in '09. Heard lovely things about the great leader my fiancee is while eating a delicious Chicken Parmesan! Yum!

Day 7 - Saturday: Michael left in the morning! Only God knows when I'll see him next... Long distance relationships suck. BIG TIME.

So that was my week! Looking forward to Week 2 of the Project! Woohoo!
